MOORES HILL, IN (FOX19) - A local woman will do hard time and may be ordered to pay back the money she stole from a local volunteer fire department.

Gladys Marie Curlin, 39, pled guilty to stealing $163,000 from the Moores Hill-Sparta Township Fire Department.

Curlin was charged with Theft in May 2009.  Investigators say she wrote more than 170 checks and made other transactions while treasurer of the volunteer department between 2004 and 2008.

Court documents show the plea agreement reached this week includes 185 days in jail, then another half-year on work release followed by one year in a home incarceration program.

Curlin may be ordered to pay restitution during sentencing before Judge James Humphrey in Dearborn Circuit Court in October.
