Thousands of People lose Power

MOUNT HEALTHY, OH (FOX19) - Nearly 3,500 customers of Duke Energy lost power Friday night, due to explosions.

Around 9pm, explosions happened at the substation at Compton Road and Forest Avenue a Duke Energy spokesperson said. A breaker kicked off, causing one explosion, and another explosion occurred as the system attempted to automatically reset. The explosions caused the insulation on underground transmission lines to deteriorate.

Duke expected the power to be fixed within two hours.
