Indiana State Police to participate in blitz

Connersville, Indiana:  First Sergeant Todd Fields, acting commander of the Connersville Post, today announced troopers will be participating in a statewide crackdown on impaired drivers.  This enforcement initiative will begin Friday, August 20 and run through Sunday, September 12.  Troopers will join more than 250 other law enforcement agencies throughout the state to conduct high-visibility saturation patrols, sobriety checkpoints and other activities designed to deter impaired driving and motorcycle riding across the Hoosier state.

Motorists are urged to call 911 if they encounter a suspected drunk driver.  Citizens should be prepared to give a complete description of the vehicle, including color and make, along with a license plate number, road on which the vehicle is being operated, and direction of travel.  Callers can remain anonymous.
