CADDO PARISH (KSLA) – A man who thought a trio of brothers stole a video game system from his girlfriend is now in jail, accused of killing the three brothers.

Investigators arrested 33-year-old Marcus Donte Reed on three charges of first degree murder in the deaths of 18-year-old Jarquis Adams, 20-year-old Jeremiah Adams, and 13-year-old Gene Adams.

Reed is currently in the Caddo Correctional Center without bond. He turned himself in to deputies at the Sheriff's South Substation on Tuesday.

Investigators say the Adams brothers were shot as they pulled into the driveway of Reed's girlfriend's house about 10:30 Monday night. The home is in the 9600 block of Keatchie-Marshall Rd.

Authorities say Reed was hiding in the woods near his girlfriend's house armed with an SKS assault rifle. According to Sheriff Steve Prator, when the brothers pulled into the driveway, Reed came out from hiding and opened fire on the car.

Prator said the scene was not unlike what you would see in a violent TV show.

Prator also said there is no indication that the brothers ever took a video game system from Reed's.

The victims' Great Aunt, Clara Morgan, raised the boys.  She noticed they didn't come home on Monday, so when she heard about the murder on the news she rushed to the crime scene and discovered her boys were dead.

"I lived for them.  Everything I did was for them," said Morgan.

Gene attended Youree Drive Middle School and the district's Academic Recovery & Career Development Center. Jeremiah was a 2008 graduate of Huntington High School. The Caddo Parish School Board said counselors are on staff at each of the schools and additional grief counselors will be available this week at both Youree Drive and Academic Recovery to meet with staff, family and students, as needed.
