PHOENIX, ARIZONA - Chris Heisey's suicide squeeze in the top of the ninth inning gave the Reds a win against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Heisey knocked in Jim Edmonds with the go-ahead run in the 11-7 win.
Edinson Volquez couldn't make it out of the fifth inning, but the bullpen held the Diamondbacks at bay, until the Reds' offense could mount a comeback.
The Reds scored eight times in the eighth and ninth innings to slam the door.
The Reds finish the series in Arizona later Thursday.
The Cardinals have the day off, but lost to the Brewers once again Wednesday. That means the Reds have a three game lead in the National League Central.
