TOLLESBORO, KY (FOX19) - Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear recognized the death of a Tollesboro, Kentucky soldier. Specialist Christopher Wright died August 19 after being hit in the chest with a shrapnel.
Insurgents attacked his unit using small arms fire.
According to the Department of Defense he was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Air Field, GA.
Wright was a 2005 graduate of Lewis County High School and was on his second tour of duty in Iraq.
Governor Beshear will order that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on the day of Specialist Wright's interment for which arrangements are still pending.
