MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) - A bricklaying ceremony is being held Wednesday at the SunCoke facility in Middletown.
Construction on the facility actually began in April, but the ceremony will commemorate the start of the construction.
U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown and Governor Ted Strickland are attending the event.
The project is expected to be completed in September of 2011 and will create approximately 550 jobs at its peak.
The SunCoke facility is an energy plant owned by Sunoco. The plant will make high-quality metallurgical-grade coke for major steel manufacturers. It will employ 86 people and have the capacity to produce 550,000 tons of coke per year.
