OVER-THE-RHINE (FOX19) – Cincinnati Police swarmed on Over-the-Rhine Wednesday morning, searching for thirty individuals indicted by a Hamilton County grand jury.
For three months, CPD officers and ATF agents have been building the case that ended with drug and gun charges. The blitz focused on Clifton Avenue, Vine Street, Race Street, and Lang Street and everything in between.
The investigation began to reduce the violence in the OTR area.
Many of the men arrested are either on probation or parole. Large amounts of cash, and pockets full of drugs were also found during searches.
Cincinnati Initiative to Reduce Violence, or CIRV, has targeted many of the suspects since the beginning, and Wednesday all the hard work paid off.
Police say long term jail sentences are likely after Wednesday's sweep.
