Turpin (1-0) used an opportunistic defense to force Loveland (0-1) into five untimely turnovers in route to a 24-6 victory in the Skyline Crosstown Showdown at Mason High School.
Spartans' tailback Will Stocker ran for 155 yards on 34 carries and a score. The senior also had two receptions for another 72 yards. Quarterback Eric Martin was his steady as usual throwing for 202 yards and two touchdowns. Stocker was responsible for 227 of the 360 yards of total offense for his squad.

The Tigers had trouble mustering yards on the ground all evening against the tough Spartans defense. Loveland netted just 86 yards on 25 carries. Ian Saylor led the way for Turpin with 12 tackles, including four for losses.
Turpin picked off Ryne Terry three times on the night. Wide receiver Wes Kyles was one of the few bright spots for the Tigers with nine receptions for 61 yards.
Things don't get any easier for either squad as Loveland travels to Lebanon and Turpin goes across the city to take on Wyoming at Bob Lewis Stadium in Week 2.
