CINCINNATI (FOX19) - A Western Hills High School student is due in court Saturday morning after he was arrested for bringing a gun to school Friday morning.
Police say 18-year-old Edward Harris of Westwood brought the gun into the school in a backpack, and was trying to sell it to another student.
The school district says school security thought he and the other student were strangely interested in a backpack Harris had, and went into a restroom to do something involving it. After the pair went to class, security went to their lockers and found the gun.
Police were called and the students searched, and large amount of money was found on one of them.
Harris has now been charged with felony counts of carrying a concealed weapon and taking a weapon onto school property, and a misdemeanor count of trying to sell a gun to a person under 18.
Both students have been suspended with a recommendation for expulsion. Unless they can successfully appeal, they will be expelled for a minimum of 180 days.
