4 escape Florence fire

FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - Investigators are trying to figure out the cause of a fire in Florence.

The fire broke out around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon in a trailer on Melinda Lane.

Smoke detectors in the home helped the four people inside get out safely. Firefighters saying it might have been a different story if the fire happened at another time.

"If this fire happened at three o'clock in the morning, this fire would have had a different outcome for a lot of different people," said Elliot Cross with the Florence Fire Department.

A witness claims there were teenagers running from the house before the fire, but investigators say no one has come forward with that information.
