Suspect on the loose following chase in Mason

MASON, OH (FOX19) - Mason police are looking for help in locating a suspect in a burglary that occurred over the weekend.

At about 1 a.m. on Sunday, August 29, Mason police were dispatched to the 4200 block of Maxwell Drive for a report of a burglary in progress.

While on the scene, a second burglary was reported near the first one. Officers in the area observed a white Pontiac Torrent, with a white male driver, leaving the area.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop. A vehicle pursuit ensued and eventually ended at 8605 Mason-Montgomery Road in Deerfield Township, when the suspect crashed his vehicle.

The suspect, identified as Jeffrey B. Bertrand, 31 years old, of Brookgreen Court in Cincinnati, fled the scene on foot.

Felony warrants have been issued for Bertrand for burglary, possession of criminal tools, receiving stolen property, failure to comply, and several traffic violations.
