HAMILTON, OH (FOX 19) - Fly, flutter and flock to Miami Whitewater Forest Visitor Center for Monarch Mania Weekend! The event will be held on Saturday, September 11th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 12th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

As these beautiful butterflies journey across our area in route to their wintering site in Mexico, it's the perfect time to learn more about them. Monarch Mania will feature crafts, a migration game and a scavenger hunt for families to find as many monarchs as possible.

Researcher Lester Peyton will give a presentation on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. to explain the monarch life cycle, how to attract them and will demonstrate how to research them by tagging real monarchs and then setting them free.

This event is free and open to the public. Miami Whitewater Forest is located at 9001 Mt. Hope Road. A valid Hamilton County Park District Motor Vehicle Permit ($5.00 annual; $2.00 daily) is required to enter the parks. For additional information, please visit or call (513) 521-PARK (7275).
