CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - You watched them come alive week after week on FOX19. Monday night, the tri-state got to see and hear them in person.
We're talking 'American Idol' and this past season's crop of new idols took to the stage at Riverbend.
They've been in 43 cities. Cincinnati is their second-to-last stop before Indianapolis Tuesday night, then their post-Idol summer tour is over.
"It was crazy," Idol winner Lee DeWyze said of the night he won. "It was a crazy night man. I do remember it, you know, it was just a good feeling. Whatever they would have said I would have been ok with at that point because I was proud of where I was at."
So what Lee say to runner-up Crystal Bowersox?
"I told her I loved her you know because we both went through the same process," Dewyze said. "We grew really close. she's just such a good artist, she's so talented, she'll be fine."
"I'm just blessed enough to be able to do what I love to do now," he said.
And so is Siobhan Magnus.
"It's wild being 20-years-old and being on this tour," Magnus said.
And the experience that is uniquely American Idol was a real coming-of-age event for Siobhan.
"I was at a point in my life where I had to start figuring things out and didn't know exactly what I was going to do," she said.
It was also a life turning-point for Andrew Garcia, who has also worked in fast food, in construction and as a janitor.
"Man I know what it is to wake-up at 4 in the morning and sweat at 4:30," Garcia said. "I was playing shows with bronchitis, full-on bronchitis, still rocking that stage, this is what I love to do and I don't consider it a job."
Teen pop princess Katie Stevens has ties to the Queen City.
"My dad was born here. He called me this morning and was like, I want you to know I was born there," she laughed.
Stevens is becoming a big deal in Portugal where most of her family is from.
"They called and want me to make an appearance on Idol in Portugal, which is really cool," Stevens said.
Katie revealed to me her Idol crush.
"Yes," she said. "Breaking news, Katie Stevens is marrying Cristiano Ronaldo," she giggled jokingly.
Ronaldo is a soccer star in Portugal.
"I'm marrying him but he doesn't know it yet," she laughed.
And just in time for the holidays, most of the Idol contestants will again be competing for your dollars, when their CD's all get released, later this Fall.
