Sophomore Jalin Marshall continues to impress at the varsity level as the Middletown (2-0) quarterback. He had touchdown runs of 58 and 45 yards in a decisive five-minute span during the third and fourth quarters to put a 10-point lead over Troy (1-1) out of reach for the home team.
Marshall would end up with 180 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. He would throw for another 107 and a score via the air. His favorite target on the night was Zach Edwards who caught 6 balls for 66 yards and a touchdown.
The Middletown defense which gets overshadowed in this victory has now given up 10 points or fewer 10 times in the Middies last fourteen contests dating back to the beginning of the 2009 season.
Middletown heads to Lima Senior, who the Middies have outscored 276-55 over the last five years while going 5-0 in that span. Troy now shifts its focus on hosting a very confident Fairborn (2-0) team.
