With just nine seconds left on the clock St. Xavier (1-1) quarterback Nick Albers found Daniel Braswell on a 15-yard scoring toss to lead the Bombers to a 24-21 come-from-behind victory over visiting Cathedral (IN). It was just the elixir that Albers needed to exorcise his demons from the week before.
It would be a 44-yard touchdown run by Connor Hundley that put the Bombers ahead for the second time at 21-17 with just over nine minutes left in the affair. Hundley would end up with a career-high 182 yards rushing.
The Irish answered as Connor Barthel threw his third touchdown toss of the game a 55-yarder to Alec Biatar. Barthel would throw for 300 yards and three touchdowns. The Bombers' secondary had no answers for him. Unfortunately, his efforts would be overshadowed in the loss.
St. Xavier will host its namesake next Friday as Louisville St. Xavier comes to town.
