Two men tied to multiple robberies in northern Kentucky

COLD SPRING, KY (FOX19) -- Two men charged in two robberies in Covington may be connected to several other robbery cases in Northern Kentucky.

Friday afternoon, Covington Police and Cold Spring Police detectives were investigating a Robbery that occurred at the Cold Spring Kroger parking lot that occurred September 2. Officials believe the same suspects were involved in a robbery that occurred on August 18 in the Meijer's parking lot. In both cases, elderly women were the victims and their purses were forcibly taken from them.

Police in Covington stopped a vehicle on Russell Street that matched the description of the vehicle involved in the September 2 incident. 25-year-old Stephen Herdman and 47-year-old Leslie Pope were arrested for outstanding warrants. The two are being charged with the robberies at Meijer and Kroger.

Newport Police are also pursuing charges for similar incidents in their city. Evidence found in the vehicle at the time of the arrest, came from a burglary that occurred in Campbell County Friday morning. Campbell County will also be pursuing charges.

Herdman and Pope are currently being held at the Kenton County Jail.

A female suspect in the August 18 robbery is being sought and an arrest warrant will be filed.
