Realtor nabs suspected thief at open house

By Tiffany Teasley – bio | email

FT. THOMAS, KY (FOX19) - Authorities say the suspected thief had been hitting several homes on the market, but this time when the realtor felt something was fishy, he called 911.

"I was kind of suspicious because he was kind of acting a little bit strange and he ended up going right upstairs to the bathroom," said Realtor Doug Schuerman of Sibcy Cline.

Schuerman said he knew something wasn't quite right from the second 39-year-old Christopher Frazee walked into the home for sale on Lafayette Ave., during an open house on Saturday

"I kind of followed him to make sure everything was legit and I noticed he had shut the bathroom door, and I could hear him rummaging through something, and I decided to call 911," Schuerman said.

Police eventually caught up with the suspect just a mile away from the house, with drugs he allegedly swiped from the homeowners' bathroom.

"Policeman told me that he ended up taking about 20 Vicodin and some, muscle relaxants," Schuerman said.

And it wasn't the first time that Frazee had come to an open house, Schuerman remembered the man's odd behavior from before.

"I asked him if I could send him some information on some other houses, and he gave me his information, and when I tried to contact him it was all bogus; kind of set of some alarms, and what I thought was going to happen actually happened," Schuerman said.

Frazee was already probation for stealing prescription pills from another home in 2008.
