CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory says he was informed over the weekend that a conference scheduled for this weekend in Cincinnati has been cancelled.
The National Conference of Black Mayors was scheduled to meet in the Queen City on Sept. 8-11.
According to Mallory's office, the conference was cancelled by the president of the NCBM because registrations for the conference had not come in at a high enough level for conference success.
The convention was initially planned to coincide with Major League Baseball's annual Civil Rights Game weekend in May, but was pushed back due to budget constraints in participating cities.
The conference was expected to bring hotel and restaurant business to the downtown area.
