Motorcyclist gets 8 years for fatal crash

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A man has been sentenced for his role in a fatal crash.

Bobby Luke, 28, will spend the next eight years behind bars for the death of Lynda Colegate.

Colegate, 55, was killed in November 2009 while she was attempting to pull into a driveway in the 7200 block of SR 128 Whitewater Township. Luke, who was on a motorcycle, crashed into the driver's side of Colegate's car.

Luke was drunk at the time of the crash. He pled guilty last month to aggravated vehicular homicide.

"From the bottom of my heart, I am sorry," Luke said through tears. "That day I chose to consume alcohol and ride my motorcycle in a reckless manner. The result was the loss of a woman very special to so many people."

He could have received 13 years in prison.
