The Anderson Redskins proved to be too much for the Boone County Rebels in an interstate battle of unbeatens as they rolled to a 33-8 victory.
Anderson (3-0) enjoyed a big night from senior running back Jake Nelson, who accounted for 107 of the team's 221 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries. Junior quarterback Nick Mason was nearly flawless, completing 12-of-18 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns to go along with 35 yards rushing.
The Redskins picked up 292 of their 384 total yards in the first half alone and led at the break 27-0 after three second-quarter touchdowns.
Boone County (2-1) fared better than last season in the match-up, but they were overmatched from the outset. Senior running back Jordan Oppenheimer finished with 104 rushing yards and a touchdown on 20 carries in the loss.
Anderson welcomes Bryan Station next week while Boone County plays host to Highlands.
