The Highlands Bluebirds held off the Withrow Tigers at home on Friday Night, walking away with a 34-27 victory.

Junior quarterback Patrick Towles continue his fast start to the 2010 campaign by rushing for four touchdowns and 159 yards.

His counterpart, Withrow's Blake Moore, did most of his damage through the air as he passed for four touchdowns in the defeat.

Both teams only mustered seven first-half points, before things opened up in the second half as the two teams combined to put 54 points on the board.

The Tigers had their chances, but a few key plays did them. A failed onside kick to the third quarter gave Highlands (4-0) short field position and the Bluebirds scored three plays later and never looked back.

Highlands heads to Boone County next week. Withrow pays a visit to Taft.
