Down 14-13 at halftime, the Moeller Crusaders decided to take things into their own hands as they exploded for 31 points in a nine and a half minute span in the third stanza to open a 30-point margin against the Northmont Thunderbolts on their way to a 51-14 victory.
All aspects of the Crusaders' game began hitting on all cylinders as the Moeller offense would run for 279 yards. Tailback Tucker Skove had 163 yards and two scores on the ground. Both quarterbacks Spencer Iacovone and Charlie Fiessinger each threw touchdown passes after intermission.
It was the Moeller (3-0) defense that was the difference in this one. End Jesse Hayes had three sacks, including one in the end zone for a safety. Shaquille Jinks had an interception return for a touchdown from 31-yards out. The team held Northmont (1-2) to 32 yards rushing on 35 carries.
Next week the Crusaders tangle with Findlay while the Thunderbolts hit the road for a match-up with Sidney.
