CINCINNATI (AP) - A battered briefcase filled with World War II memorabilia is on its way to its owner's daughter in Texas, two decades after a family found it on vacation in Washington, D.C.
Amanda Parker-Wolery lives in Cincinnati and recently tracked down the daughter of the briefcase's owner, Gerald Amirault, after she learned that Amirault died in 1989. Parker-Wolery says her stomach knotted at the idea of somebody desperately searching for the love letters, old maps and photos that were stuffed inside the briefcase.
The daughter, Deborah Dean in Hurst, Texas, says she thought she'd never see the briefcase again. ---
