Woman called hero after she alerts residents to fire in building

FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) - Investigators say a woman who was driving by the Heritage Glen Apartments on Sunday is a hero after letting residents know the building was on fire.

The woman was driving past the 4900 block of Pleasant Avenue around 12:15 p.m. when she noticed smoke.

17 families live in the building and no residents were injured. However, a firefighter injured his leg. No cause has been determined for the fire.

Fire departments from Hamilton, Colerain Twp., Forest Park responded to the blaze. The Red Cross is helping the families. No damage estimate was given.
