NKY: Holmes Heading Up

The latest QueenCityHigh.com / FOX19 Northern Kentucky Rankings were released on Tuesday and as expected there were few shakeups in the poll.

The Holmes Bulldogs are on the rise in the rankings, up to two spots from No. 6 to fourth as they are off to an impressive 3-0 start. Head coach Stephen Lickert has a ton of talent in the cupboard and certainly has the program on the right track.

Lickert's alma mater, Highlands, continues its lock on the top spot in the rankings. However, the Bluebirds did have a bit of a scare as they welcomed Withrow in an interstate battle last week. Ryle and Simon Kenton round out the top three respectively.

NewCath drops one spot to fifth after a tough loss at 6A Ryle last week. Meanwhile, Dixie Heights is up one after a big win over Conner last week pulled them to .500 at 2-2.

Boone County, CovCath, Conner and Beechwood round out the final four spots.
