City council votes to bring Oakley homes back to Hyde Park

HYDE PARK, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati City Council voted unanimously on Wednesday to move about 500 disputed houses out of the Oakley neighborhood and into Hyde Park.

A motion was passed in a sub-committee Tuesday, and the full council voted Wednesday afternoon on the motion.

Almost 500 houses were listed as being in Oakley by realtors, while the Hamilton County Auditor map listed the houses as being in Hyde Park.

Residents of the houses had been paying Hyde Park taxes, but they had to sell their houses at the lower property values of the Oakley neighborhood.
