FRANKLIN, OH (FOX19)- Several law enforcement agencies, along with hundreds from the Franklin community, gathered to remember the life of 32 year old Anthony Wallace.

Wallace worked for the Hoonah, AK police department. Wallace and his off-duty partner were shot and killed on August 28, 2010.

"Tony was taken from us by a coward, and he is going to be missed greatly," said Gerry Massey of the Franklin Police Department.

Anthony's father, Gary Wallace, retired from the Franklin Police Department five years ago. During the memorial service, Gary thanked his family and the community for their strong support.

"It takes a whole town to raise a son and daughter and this happened in this town with Tony," said Gary Wallace.

Anthony was an All-American wrestler at the Rochester Institute of Technology where he attended college. Also, Tony was one of the few hearing impaired officers in the country.
