Bar patron killed; two undercover cops shot in Camp Washington

by FOX19 Staff

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) --  Update: JD's Honky Tonk Bar reopened for business on Sunday.

One person is dead and another person injured and two undercover Cincinnati Police officers were shot inside the JD's Honky Tonk Bar around 7 p.m.  It is located at the 2400 block of Spring Grove Ave.

Cincinnati Police say that the two undercover police officers were shot as they walked into the bar.

Approx. 10:30 p.m. Saturday both vice unit officers were released from University Hospital. One officer was shot in the leg, the other shot in the hip. FOX19 is told the bullets entered and exited the officer's bodies.

Cincinnati Police Chief Tom Streicher says he will not be releasing the officers names at this time because the officers are part of the undercover unit.

As of 11 p.m. numerous police crews are still on the scene in the Camp Washington neighborhood of Cincinnati.  Police say four or five members of the Iron Horsemen Motorcycle Club have been arrested, but police still have canine units searching the area to check for the possibility that more suspects may be in the area.

Few details have been released about the person killed or the other injured person except that person was shot in the foot. The injured person is at University Hospital.

Police have also surrounded the buildings at that location on Spring Grove Avenue.  Traffic in the area is being rerouted and there are police cars on the interstate near the scene.

Hamilton County SWAT crews blocked of a three block radius to traffic.

The shooting is believed to involve the Iron Horseman Motorcycle Club. Chief Tom Streicher says, "The Ironhorseman have been here for years, the Iron Horsemen have been part--have been around Cincinnati for a number of years, and they have had a presence here."

This is the fourth shooting involving police in the past three days. On Thursday a Woodlawn Police officer was shot at in Lincoln Heights. Cincinnati Police say Thursday and Friday officers were shot at in Winton Terrace. The officers were not injured in those shootings.
