CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The new president of the University of Cincinnati was sworn in Sunday afternoon in a ceremony where he also announced his new 2019 Initiative.
Gregory Williams was sworn in during a ceremony Sunday afternoon. The 2019 Initiative is Williams' plan to up the ranking of the University of Cincinnati to become one of the top 100 schools in the country.
Elements of the proposal include boosting wireless coverage to the entire campus and advancing research funding to the 500-million dollar mark.
"The biggest challenge is probably going to be remaining focused on our goals in difficult economic times, but I think as a university we always have to be looking forward, no matter what the economic situation is," Williams says.
The University of Cincinnati begins classes on Wednesday.
