Miami Valley Conference play kicked off on Friday night as the Summit Country Day Silver Knights and the Lockland Panthers squared off at The Castle.
The game was a measuring stick for Summit Country Day (4-0) and they passed the test with flying colors pulling out a 14-7 overtime win against Lockland (3-1), who has been a perennial playoff team.
Senior running back Devante Hunter led the way for the Silver Knights by carrying the ball 15 times for 160 yards, including 28-yard touchdown in overtime to seal the victory.
SCD will look for a fifth straight win to start the year when they face Cincinnati Country Day next week. Lockland will look to bounce back against Clark Montessori.
