READING, OH (FOX 19) -- UPDATE: A benefit is being held on October 9th from 7 p.m. till midnight at the Reading Eagle's Arie to help the family after a fire damaged their home. Cover charge is $10.00 and there will be a live band, raffle, and split the pot. The family also asks that any cash donations can be made to 5/3 Bank under Robinson. They are in need of clothes after most of them were destroyed.
Original Story: A fire breaks out at a three-story home on Jefferson Tuesday afternoon. Reading fire crews have not released a cause, but said it broke out on the third floor of the home. There is damage to the roof and smoke damage throughout.
However, crews wouldn't estimate the monetary value of the damage done.
Fire officials said no one was inside the home at the time of the blaze. Asst. Chief Kim Fladung says nine people lived inside the home.
The American Red Cross is providing temporary shelter for the family Tuesday night.R
Reading utilized mutual aid by calling on companies in surrounding areas to help battle the fire. Fladung says all the crews quick response helped limit the damage.
