CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A new report released Wednesday shows average home prices in Cincinnati are among the highest in Ohio.
Coldwell Banker's Home Listing Report shows the average price of a "typical" home in Cincinnati is $217,709. By comparison, the average price of a home in Cleveland is $87,240. Cleveland was ranked the nation's fourth most affordable market.
Another Ohio town, Canton, also make the top 10 list for affordable markets, ranking at number 8.
California featured six of the country's most expensive housing markets with Newport Beach, Calif., ranking as the most expensive with an average home price of $1,826,348.
Here's how the Greater Cincinnati area fared in the survey:
The HLR provides the average home listing price of more than 18,000 four-bedroom, two-bathroom properties on coldwellbanker.com that were listed between February and August 2010 from nearly 300 select U.S. markets where Coldwell Banker Real Estate has a presence. The U.S. average for the surveyed listings was approximately $353,000. Markets included in this report were required to have at least six properties fitting the above criteria within the relevant timeframe.
