FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) - Mold, water leaks and plumbing problems are just a few of the issues tenants at the Heritage Glen Apartments in Fairfield say they're dealing with on a daily basis.
Public documents from Fairfield Municipal Court show the conditions tenants have been living in.
"Mechanical problems with heating and air conditioning units, plumbing, water infiltration," said Tim Bachman, of the Development Services Dept. for the city of Fairfield.
The photos taken in 2008 show mold on the carpet, underneath the carpet and water leaks on the wall.
"They've fixed some of those particular issues, and some of those issues they've not, and they've been addressed through court action," Bachman said.
There's currently 20 open court case against the owner of the apartment, Eastgate Village LTD, city leaders say they've already been found guilty of 13 charges for various zoning and safety violations.
"Some of them are living in, I would have to agree, unsanitary conditions, I think they're concerned about their health," Bachman said
One of the complex's ten buildings caught fire last week, forcing displaced tenets to other buildings.
A judge has continued all open criminal cases against the company to December.
