The Public Library in Cincinnati receives a $1 Million dollar donation

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County Foundation has received $1 million dollars from the Joseph S. Stern Jr. Family Fund of Greater Cincinnati Foundation.

Stern, former chairman of U.S. shoe corp died in January at age 91. He had been honored for many contributions in the city and established the Friends of the Public Library in 1957. Four years later he was appointed to the library board of trustees which he held for 42 years.

The library plans on using the gift to establish an endowment fund.
