FARFIELD, OH (FOX19) -- A Fairfield student is recovering after being struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon.
A short time after 2:00pm, Fairfield Police were called to North Gilmore Road near the Fairfield High School and Jungle Jim's International Market for a report of a young male who was struck by a vehicle.
Officials found 16-year-old Conner Bowman, a student at Fairfield High School, had been struck by a northbound van after he entered the roadway.
He was transported to Children's Hospital by AirCare for leg and head injuries. Police say he was alert and responsive when he was transported. Bowman's parents were notified and he was later released.
The driver of the van, 46-year-old Wanda Isele was not injured in the crash.
Police say that alcohol, drugs or speed were mot factors in the incident.
