Elder (2-4, 0-1) came out firing on all cylinders as they dominated the first 15 minutes of play, jumping out to a 10-0 lead. Then the turnover bug found its way into the Panthers offense and St. Xavier (4-2, 1-1) capitalized on every little break from there.
In what seemed like an easy cruise into intermission for Elder then saw St. Xavier score two touchdowns in the last five and a half minutes before break to take a 14-10 lead that they would never relinquish.
Midway through the third quarter it became the Conor Hundley show as the junior would find the end zone three times in the games next six minutes as opportunistic St. Xavier offense became very efficient off of Elder miscues. Hundley would finish with 17 carries and 143 yards.
St. Xavier linebacker Steven Daniels had a career high three sacks raising his season total to 10. It marked the fourth time in six outings that "The Juice" has made pulp out of an opposing quarterback at least twice this year.
St. Xavier goes on the road to prove their manly-hood against an undefeated LaSalle team that can smell GCL South title in their blood. Elder must regroup on the road against a very tense Moeller team who just got "waxed" by 25 to Indianapolis Cathedral (4-3).
