BLUE ASH (FOX19) - Monday was a day to remember the life of a Sycamore High School graduate who lost his life in Afghanistan serving our country.
Scott Morrison, 23, was killed in action on September 25, 2010.
Monday, flags and yellow ribbons lined Cooper Road in Blue Ash. A procession made it's way through the community, lead by the casket carrying Morrison's body and followed by the parents of the fallen soldier.
"He was a very caring, loving person. He's definitely a goofball," said friend Jen Biele.
Morrison joined the Army because a close friend decided to. Before joining the service, Morrison worked at the Blue Ash Recreation Center. Members of the Blue Ash community who didn't even know Scott also paid their respects.
"I think people become a little desensitized to it. You know there is a war going on and everything but when you see things like this it hits home a little more," said Chad Worthington.
Family members said Scott was the type of person that never met a stranger and was a comedian who never shied away from a harmless prank.
"He touched a lot of people's lives," said Biele.
