CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Anticipation is mounting at the zoo where an 18-year-old Indian rhino is expected to give birth any day now.
A dedicated team of volunteers have been on 24-watch, using remote T-V monitors so they know when the rhino, Nikki, goes into labor.
Nikki is carrying the baby of a rhino housed at the Bronx Zoo, however, the two have never met. Scientists collected rhino's sperm four years ago and artificially inseminated Nikki last summer.
This will be the first birth of an endangered Indian rhino conceived by artificial insemination in the world.
