HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - The trial continued Thursday for 33-year-old Calvin McKelton, the Cincinnati man is accused of strangling his ex girlfriend, Fairfield attorney Margaret Allen, and killing a witness to the crime, Germaine Evans.

"He said, I was there in the house when Calvin Killed that girl," said Andre Ridley, a friend of Germaine Evans

Ridley says Germaine Evans told him face to face after Margaret Allen's body was found in 2008.

"He said I was in another room and they were in there fighting, and he said after a while he came out the room, and when he came out the room he saw Calvin choking Margaret," Ridley said.

Ridley told prosecutors that Evans watched as McKelton frantically told the victim, Margaret Allen, to wake up.

"He said Calvin was crying like, 'please, missy wake up, wake up, please wake up,' he said instantly he knew she was said," Ridley said.

Ridley says Evans then told him he helped McKelton, known as C-Murder on the streets, stage the scene as a robbery and dump the body in Cincinnati.

"He said they started knocking over furniture to act like somebody was searching for drugs or money, and hey said after that, they wrapped the body up, put the body in the car and he said Calvin set fire to the house," Ridley said.

Defense attorneys attempted to discredit the witness as a former drug dealer and questioned why he didn't tell Evans to go to the cops and didn't reveal to officers what Evans had told him during initially questioning.

McKelton is facing the death penalty if convicted, the trial continues.
