Middletown (7-0, 4-0) remained unbeaten as they held off a pesky Mason (4-3, 3-1) squad. Jalin Marshall accounted for six Middies' touchdowns. He ran for 240 yards and four rushing scores while passing for another 112 yards and two passing touchdowns.

Mason took a 23-21 lead into halftime behind three David Fulcher touchdown runs. The Comets senior was sensational with 206 yards on 31 carries and five rushing touchdowns. He has 10 of his 16 rushing touchdowns in the last three weeks.

Marshall's explosiveness was just too much for Mason too handle as the sophomore had all four of his rushing score in the games next 18 minutes. The Comets had no answers for the speedster, who set personal bests in rushing and passing yards.

The Middies found the end zone twice on returns. Cody Quinn returned his second kickoff of the year to the house. Linebacker returned a fumble 30 yards for the other touchdown.

Middletown takes its unblemished record south to Fairfield (2-5, 1-3) next Friday. Mason will host a reeling Lakota West (1-6, 0-4) team.
