CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Honor Flight will be taking 86 veterans to their memorial in Washington DC as part of the Honor Flight program on a Charter flight from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport on Tuesday, October 12th.
Honor Flight is a non profit organization that was created to honor America's veterans for their sacrifices by providing them a FREE trip to Washington DC to see the memorial built in their honor . This trip will include 86 Veterans and 79 guardians as escorts. As Founder Earl Morse said, "This will be our last chance to thank these incredible men and women for the freedoms we enjoy today ". All veterans traveling on this flight are from the Greater Cincinnati , Northern Kentucky and South Eastern Indiana area.
Although this flight has been generously donated by the Simply Money Foundation, we are in need of continued financial support to complete our mission of flying every World War ll survivor to their memorial.
This flight will include visits to the World War ll memorial, Iwo Jima, and the US AirForce memorial, and other Washington DC sights. The flight will return @ 10:00 pm. A Welcome Home reception is planned for 10:00 pm – public invited.
The veterans are dying at an ever increasing rate and our goal is to fly as many as we can that are physically able before it is too late. Although this is the last flight of the season – we will begin again in April and are currently taking applications. Applications on line @ www.honorflighttristate.org
