Cincinnati Police Chief talks about Bengals player being handcuffed

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -- Cincinnati Police Chief Tom Streicher is holding a press conference regarding an incident where Bengals player Adam 'Pacman' Jones was put in handcuffs after the game on Sunday.

A Cincinnati Police reports stated that Adam Jones was immediately belligerent and combative. The asked Jones for identification and ran his name through Ohio and Georgia. The search came back with a warrant and he was placed in handcuffs. Adam Jones was moved to the intersection of 4th and Main Streets because a crowd started to form creating a safety issue.

The report states that it was determined that Adam Jones was not the wanted individual and he was released.

The website Bearcat Lair posted a picture of Jones sitting on the side of the roadway in handcuffs.

Police are calling the incident and unfortunate mistake and Chief Striecher is expected to personally speak to Jones later today.
