LINCOLN HEIGHTS, OH (FOX19) - The police chief in Lincoln Heights is stepping down Friday, amid controversy that he is not certified to be a police officer.
Ron Twitty's last day of being the police chief of Lincoln Heights will be Friday. He announced his plans two weeks ago to the police department.
Chief Twitty recently came under some controversy when it was revealed that he had not taken the Ohio state certification exam for police officers since rejoining the police force in 2009. Twitty had resigned from the Cincinnati Police Department in 2002, and officers who have been resigned for four years lose their certification.
Despite this, Twitty claims he is stepping down from the police force for personal reasons.
