CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) – Reel Roots Folk Music Alliance, a new folk music promotion group, has announced Irish folk musicians Brendan Begley from County Kerry, Ireland and Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh from Dublin, Ireland will be performing as a duo in Cincinnati.
The concert is the first in a series of three autumn events presented by Reel Roots and will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at the Madisonville Arts Center. The concert will feature songs in the Gaelic language and traditional Irish folk tunes on accordion and fiddle.
"We are thrilled to be kicking off our first concert series with such wonderful and accomplished musicians," said Kristen Kirby of Reel Roots. "We hope this will be the beginning of many more Celtic music performances for Cincinnati in the future."
Brendan Begley is most known as a member of the Celtic supergroup Boys of the Lough who have toured worldwide and completed over 70 tours of the United States since the 1970's. Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh is an accomplished young musician who plays traditional and contemporary folk music on fiddle, 5-string viola and hardanger fiddle.
