Two flown to hospital after school bus runs into car

BUTLER, KY (FOX19) - Two people were flown to a hospital after a school bus ran into their car Thursday afternoon.

The accident occurred at the intersection of KY17 and US27 in Pendleton County at about 3 p.m. The two people in the vehicle, a woman and her 14-year-old passenger, had to be taken to a hospital by AirCare. Their names and conditions have not been released.

"Don't believe that any of their injuries are life threatening," said Sheriff Craig Peoples. "Neither one had their seatbelts on and they had airbags implosion, which causes chest injury and things of that nature. And they took a violent hit."

There were five students, a bus monitor and the driver on the bus at the time. None of them were hurt. The students that were in the school bus had to be taken to another school so they could be picked up by their parents.

Police say the woman in the car pulled in front of the bus and could face charges.
