CPS’ Magnet Elementary Schools on display at October showcase

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) – Cincinnati Public Schools will hold its Magnet School Showcase from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 28th to give parents the opportunity to learn more about CPS' seven magnet programs for elementary school students. CPS' Education Center is located at 2651 Burnet Avenue, Corryville (45219).

Staff from CPS' magnet schools will be available at the Showcase to talk to parents about curriculum enrichment opportunities and the magnet application process. Parents can browse among the school booths to learn about all the magnet programs.

CPS' magnet school choices, for preschool through eighth grade, include the teaching styles of Montessori and Paideia, and the content focuses of foreign language, the arts, college-preparatory, the fundamentals, and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). The seven programs are offered at schools located around the district.

The magnet application process for the 2011-12 school year begins in November: Early Application Period (for siblings of current magnet school students) is November 1-11, 2010. Regular Application Period begins November 16, 2010, and continues through June 30, 2011.
