CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) – In celebration of Pantene's partnership with the Children's Safe Drinking Water Program (CSDW), more than 300 P&G employees are gathering for the Healthy Hair for Healthy Water 6K walk this Friday, October 22nd at 1:30 p.m. in order to raise awareness of the existing global clean water crisis. The walk will take place at the Sharon Woods Innovation Center, located at 11511 Reed Hartman Highway.

The 6K walk symbolizes the average distance that women in developing countries walk to obtain drinking water for their families. To date, 850 million people don't have safe drinking water and 1.8 million children die every year from diarrheal diseases caused by contaminated water [more than Aids and Malaria combined].

Through its Healthy Hair for Healthy Water program, Pantene will support CSDW to prevent 20 million days of illness and save an estimated 2,500 lives by providing half a billion liters of clean drinking water in the developing world.

Ed Shirley, Vice Chairman, P&G Global Beauty & Grooming, will be in attendance to discuss the importance of social responsibility within the P&G corporate and employee community. In addition to spreading awareness within P&G, the employees who walk will directly benefit those in need: For every employee that walks, Pantene's Healthy Hair for Healthy Water campaign will donate the equivalent of one year of clean drinking water for four women and their families.
