STONELICK TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Investigators believe they now know the reason for a fire in Stonelick Township that took the life a 54-year-old mother.

The fire started at around 9:30 am Saturday morning on the 5800 block of Baas Rd. near OH-131. 54-year-old Kathy L. Carucci was pronounced dead at the scene.

"It's hard for everybody. It's hard for her entire company. Her family. Everybody," said Judy Graves, who knew Carucci. "It's really hard for everybody. It's going to be hard for a while because she was a beautiful woman."

Crews battled heavy smoke and flames once they arrived on scene.

"I just can't believe it," said Marilyn Moore, a neighbor. "I heard the sirens this morning, but I went on and went to the grocery store. I had no idea. "

Stonelick Twp. Fire Chief Matt Rose said damage was contained inside the home.

"We called for a structure fire, but nobody's supposed to be in the house," said Rose. "Upon the guys going in, knocking the fire down. Doing the first initial primary search, they came across her."

Investigators believe a dishwasher is responsible for the fire.

As news spread, family, friends, even church members and Carucci's minister gathered to support one another and remember the victim.

"She touched the community in a lot of ways," said Graves. "A lot of people, my little brother worked for her since she was out of high school. He's still with her. Everybody here. She's just an angel to everybody. She's a beautiful, beautiful woman."

Aircare was called out to the house, but Carucci died at the scene. The Hamilton County coroner's office will determine the cause of death.
