The Alter Knights used 407 total yards of offense and a power running attack to hand the Roger Bacon Spartans a 28-10 defeat.
Alter (8-1, 2-0) scored 21 points in the game's first 13 minutes and put it on cruise control from there.
Knights' quarterback Zane Pitzer completed three of his six passes for 123 yards and a touchdown while picking up another 93 yards and a score on 18 carries. Running back Justin Winters added 97 yards and a touchdown on 18 totes in the victory. The defense did their part by coming up with three sacks and limiting the Spartans to just 14 yards on the ground.
Roger Bacon started the season 5-0, but now has dropped three of their last four games. Tanner Sprong had his second-lowest throwing output of the season as he 9 of 21 passes for 117 yards and a touchdown.
Alter looks to lock up yet another GCL North title next week when they square off against Chaminade-Juilenne at home. Roger Bacon travels to Purcell-Marian.
